Where there is a will, there is a way. Students will develop and learn the skills needed to produce their projects in neon. Through demos and hands-on activities, we will cover the foundation of electrical wiring (and how not to be afraid of it), simple and effective methods of working with phosphorus and color, T-welds, partmaking, relays, animation, and more.

Galen Turner
Gaytron the Imploder
Galen Turner is a multifaceted individual based in the vibrant hilltop area of Tacoma, Washington. An artist, handyman, and fervent advocate of neon art, Galen passionately explores the realms of creativity within his community. Under the alias Gaytron the Imploder, he fearlessly takes on the stage during Bike Jump performances, channeling his energy into fundraising initiatives for various charitable causes.
In addition to his artistic endeavors, Galen is a driving force as the co-founder of the Neon Glass Collective, known as the Gas Filling Tube Suckers (GFTS). Through this collaborative effort, he plays a pivotal role in fostering a thriving neon art scene, bringing together like-minded enthusiasts to illuminate the local creative landscape.
With a blend of artistic vision, community spirit, and a touch of daring charisma, Galen Turner continues to leave an indelible mark, not only as an artist but also as a catalyst for positive change in the heart of Tacoma.
