Hello Lightning Tamers,

This is episode number 23. In today’s podcast we have David Wilson glassblower and owner of Atomic Solar for renewable solar energy. When it came to neon he was inspired by neon and furnace works of Paul Seide that he saw when visiting the Heller Gallery, which lead to his first Neon experience  in 1993 as an assistant to Jacob Fishman at Penland School of Craft.

He also created the florescent glass called Glo Glass that is sold exclusively at Spruce Pine which he’s had years to play around with, so don’t be shy to give you a ring or email, whether its about glass or perhaps a special project using solar energy.

Show Notes

Thank you for listening to the Taming Lightning Podcast. I’d like to thank David Wilson for taking the time to record for the podcast. His work is not easy to find, so it was pleasure to learn more about him. It’s also nice to have someone to reach out to in regards to my interest in fluorescent glass and its use with plasma, but also a resource for powering outdoor public sculptures. Also, I’d like to thank Pittsburgh Glass Center for supporting me as a place of research and inspiration, as well as encouraging me to pursue and the Plasma Art Alliance where I have access to the well of knowledge and connects me to some amazing people.

See you next time,
