Hello Lightning Tamers,

In today’s podcast, I’ll be introducing Bruce Suba: scientific glass, neon, and plasma. Bruce and I have been in conversation for over a year or so, we met in person last year at the Plasma Parley hosted by Glas, Neon Art Studio in Raleigh, NC.

This was recorded towards the end of my trip to the Bay area in January, where in addition to visiting, I was doing some Technical Consultation for Half Moon Bay Art Glass regarding acquired neon equipment, and passing that along for additional modifications and repairs by Bruce.

In addition to Mr. Suba’s background we’ll be hearing some much-needed wisdom in the pursuit of plasma, the need to learn as much as you can, the importance of connecting with communities such as the ASGS, the American Scientific Glassblowing Society, and other tidbits.

Show Notes

Thank you for listening to the Taming Lightning Podcast. I’d like to thank Bruce Suba for taking the time to record for the podcast, his continued support and wisdom. and being a friend and mentor in glass and life. I encourage you to give him a call, he’s always willing you help in any way he can.
Also, I’d like to thank Pittsburgh Glass Center for supporting me as a place of research and inspiration, as well as encouraging me to pursue this project, and the Plasma Art Alliance where I have access to the well of knowledge and connect me to some amazing people. Last but not least this trip was made possible through the support of the Advancing Black Arts in Pittsburgh Grant provided by The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Heinz endowment.

Be Safe, Be Healthy, and Be Strong, and I’ll See you next time!
