There’s something special happening in Chicago’s neon scene, and it’s coming straight from the warm glow of Lightwriters Neon Chicago. If you haven’t crossed paths with them yet, Lightwriters is a vibrant, family-rooted studio led by Zoelle Nagib and her father, master tube bender Jacob Fishman.
Together, they’ve built a space where tradition, experimentation, and community meet—keeping the craft alive while inviting new makers into the fold.

Snappy Script: Cursive Lettering Intensive with Jacob Fishman
March 19–22 • 10 AM–5 PM (4 days) $920.oo
Curve your mind around the fundamentals of script lettering in this 4 day-long intensive course taught by Jacob Fishman. This class meets for four 7-hour days, from March 19-22 from 10am-5pm with a lunch break each day, and extra optional practice time in the evenings.
Included in this course is clear glass, mounting components and a transformer for one lit piece to take home at the end of the class.

Love, Lust, Neon: A Neon Heart Bending Workshop with Kacie Lees
February 14 • 4‑hour workshop $250.oo
Create your own heart-shaped neon piece with instructor Kacie Lees, then watch your heart come to life while you cozy up in the studio. Students will follow along with an illustrated guide—which visually breaks down each step in the bending process into key moves, work with a bending pattern, and get in the fire to form a unique piece. This four-hour immersive experience will teach you the basics of neon, and you’ll leave with a glowing neon heart, shaped by your very own hands.
