I don’t talk very much about myself or what I do, and even through social media, you’ll get fragments of glimpses of what I have been working on or working towards.
For the last 4 years (That includes the ugliest parts of the covid 19 pandemic) I’ve been supporting myself by working in hotel hospitality, and through commission and independent contract work through the Pittsburgh Glass Center. )
The big news is I’ve freed myself of hospitality work, which while it came with a set of perks or “freedoms”, it took such a great toll on my body, my mind, and my spirit, so much I was very close to compromising my personal values and risk become disruptive in the most non-productive sense.
My new job while warehouse-related is with a company that I’ve known as long as I’ve started living in Pittsburgh and working with the Pittsburgh Glass Center, and has been a part of my initial learnings of technical components used in vacuum and gas systems used for neon and plasma, from student learning to install and bend tubing, to client, advocate, to being sponsored on my podcast, and now an employee.
I’m only 2 months in, but I find myself around genuinely good people, there’s much learn about how Swagelok operates, and the opportunities that lay before me.
Make no mistake, I don’t regret my former work history. My highest principle is “to absorb the best of things, and learn from the worst of things”, and combined with my values for fairness, kindness, and creation, I have always left the former situations with which my antagonists can only say good things.
Anyways, we’ll get into that another time.
I’ve included the newsletter that our marketing direct sent out on linkedin and facebook.
Until next time!
