Hello Lightning Tamers!
It’s been a while since my last post! I was working on the website to add a store and ran into all kinds of messes and problems, but I persevered and finally have a new platform! Clothing and Drinkware to start, but more to come be it 3D printed items, services, and tools!
I’m ramping up for quite a packed summer of teaching. It’s my main form of income as I navigate self-employment since last August, and what a blessing these opportunities are because they allow me to get by during the summer as the Pittsburgh Glass Center undergoes construction and limited independent contractor jobs. To provide a sense of what my summer schedule will be like look below!
- May 14th-20th, Teaching at Toledo Museum of Art
- May 29th-June 2nd, co-teaching with Angie McHale at the Pittsburgh Glass Center
- June 12th – 17th, Co-teaching with Zach Layhew at the Pittsburgh Glass Center
- July 6th-19th, Co-teaching with Harriet Schwarzrock at Pilchuck Glass School
- September 2nd-5th, Neon Symposium at Pilchuck Glass School
You may be wondering why am I co-teaching. well, Plasma is an addition to glassblowing skill, and requires as many hands and minds to run a class, but more importantly to give as many people an opportunity to learn and exchange teaching methods such that we can foster greater accessibility within the community.
Now that I have a better idea of my income through the summer and into the fall, I can put my attention back on the podcast and topics that I know you’ve been eager to hear about!
Thank you for your support!
