The Plasma Art Alliance is an affiliate of Taming Lightning, where their mission is to promote illuminated plasma in glass as a sculptural art medium; foster public awareness of this art form through exhibitions, conferences and educational outreach; and support the exchange of information related to techniques and technologies essential to the advancement of the field. PAA will serve the growing interest in this Art for the mutual benefit of artist, enthusiast, and patrons. In our recent meeting we discussed creating live talks regarding some of the common questions and curious histories of plasma illumination!

Such topics we would start with would be drivers and transformers, providing a basic understanding of what they are and how they work, and talk about the commercially available products, their problems, and solutions!

Podcast EP 8: Harriet “Harry” Schwarzrock – Hearts and Minds
âI invited her on the podcast after seeing her posts on Facebook and Instagram. Initially hesitant to the invitation, but she was happy to share her experience as a glassblower at the beginning of a new process. Here weâll be illuminating the struggles of learning Plasma, the issues she had to overcome, as well as the role that the residency for an artist developing new work, and importance of mentorship and support.
