Hope you’re not too bored with these, as the latest train of posts have been Weekly Picks and with hints of updates on my part on the things that I’m doing that are related to Taming Lighting. I can say now, in the chaos of my own life, I can better navigate my responsibilities, and able to block out time for podcast work (though the list of things to do is endless) |

Neon Lab Update
“eek! a Leak!”

The latest challenge following my last post is leak testing the new stainless steel lines I installed. The main reason for replacing the lines, was due to upgrade for a cleaner environment for the gas, and provide tubing that can withstand the pressures that are in the gas tank (in case of accidental opening the tank valve to much).

The first test is a positive pressure test, where you fill the line with a little gas (unlike in the photo, where I filled too much), then spraying soapy water on any all the connections, is there any leaks the gas will push out creating bubbles. Depending on one’s luck and skill, this can be a short fix or time sucking task, and I pray for the former!

Our next guest after Mundy Hepburn is Harriet Swarzrock. She’s a glass artist who works organically in her previous works, and through her recent residency took a full dive into plasma neon. I followed her work throughout her residency up until the finale, and just had to bring her onto the podcast.
