Penland offers 1-, 2-, and 8-week classes taught by visiting instructors in our well-equipped studios. Class topics include glass blowing, flameworking, glass sculpture, cold working, casting, fusing, and more. Workshops are open to serious students of all levels unless specified in course description; beginners welcome.

This workshop will cover all the steps in creating neon pieces. We’ll explore the complexity of the electronics and the interactions between the noble gases. The glass will take center stage with lots of one-on-one instruction on the fine and delicate work of bending glass tubes. We’ll draw the warm fluidity of neon from hard cold glass. Exploring the possibilities of neon art will brighten your imagination as you learn to make your ideas glow. All levels. Code 01GB
