Description
Re-Introducing the PVM400 from Amazing1, the successor to Information Unlimited.
The PVM400 (2025) is a high-voltage plasma driver designed for large single-electrode neon and gas-filled artistic displays. Engineered to power plasma globes up to 48 inches in diameter (≈33 cubic feet), this unit delivers consistent performance for ambitious installations where the virtual ground return is provided by the surrounding capacitance.
With a variable output of 1–20kV and adjustable frequency from 20–60kHz, the PVM400 offers precise control to bring large-scale plasma displays to life. Its reactance-limited current (up to 25mA) ensures stability, while built-in over-voltage shutdown with manual reset and short-circuit protection safeguard both the unit and your projects.
The upgraded design features a compact, fully enclosed plastic chassis with a cooling fan for efficient heat management. The front panel includes fuse access, power adjustment control, indicator lamp, and input cord, while the output end provides a 12″ 30kV high-voltage lead and 4′ grounding wire. Factory-set shutdown prevents damage from no-load operation, ensuring long-term reliability.
Key Features
- Input: 115 VAC, 1–2A (plugs directly into wall outlet)
- Output Voltage: Variable 1–20kV (20kV pk-pk max)
- Frequency Range: Adjustable 20–60kHz
- Current: Reactance-limited to 25mA
- Safety: Over-voltage shutdown with manual reset; short-circuit protected
- Operation: Non-resonant, single-electrode driver
⚠️ Notes
- Designed for large plasma globes, columns, and gas-filled discharge vessels; undersized loads may cause overload or transformer failure.
- Factory-set power limit control should not be adjusted without manufacturer consultation—tampering voids warranty.
