Hello Lightning Tamers,
Percy here. I’m excited to share a much-needed update about the Taming Lightning blog and store — one that’s been a long time coming.
Over the past few months, I’ve been working behind the scenes to solve a problem that was slowing all of us down — literally. The site’s performance had become a bit of a drag, both for you as visitors and for me as the person maintaining it. Every change, every upload, every tweak took more time than it should have. And while patience is a virtue, it’s not always the most creative one.
So, I made the move. Taming Lightning has officially migrated to a new web host that offers faster speeds, better storage, and an overall smoother experience. Pages are now expected to load between 1.3 and 3 seconds, making it easier to browse the store, read the blog, and explore new content without the lag.
This upgrade doesn’t just save time — it brings back the joy of creating. Writing new articles, adding new products, and sharing discoveries from the Research Lab can now happen more freely and frequently. In fact, you can expect new additions to the Research Lab Library twice a month, featuring materials that Sean, of Research Lab, and I have gathered from our visits to the Rakow Research Library. We hope develop content that will offer context and commentary on why these finds matter to our community of artists, makers, and neon enthusiasts.
This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without the support of you — the Lightning Tamers — and programs like the Creative Entrepreneur Accelerator, which have made the next phase of Taming Lightning’s growth a little more financially painless and a lot more exciting.
So, if you haven’t already, I invite you to explore the new site, test the new speed, and dive into the Research Lab Library. Your curiosity and engagement continue to fuel this work — and I can’t wait to share what’s next.
Stay curious and stay lit,
