We’ll talk with Kate and her experience making art through covid, what brought her to glass, Alfred University program and her introduction to Neon, teaching plasma at Toledo, and what’s next after getting her Masters in Fine Arts!
Welcome to the Podcast Kate Herron!
About Kate Herron
Kate Herron (she/her) examines childhood development in American society. She is a multidisciplinary installation artist, who is drawn to the possibilities of light and enjoys the adaptability of traditional glass practices, non-traditional manufactured materials, and found objects. Her passion for sculpting and teaching artistic skills has motivated her current studio practice which she is developing through the Sculpture Dimensional Studies MFA program at Alfred University. Previously Herron attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls where she obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2021. In addition, she double majored and completed a Bachelor of Science in Broad Area Art k-12. Herron will be relocating her practice to Williamsport, Pennsylvania post-graduation in spring of 2023.
